About Me
Hi! I’m the owner and operator of Gette Stream Scuba, LLC. Born and raised in Kansas City, I fell in love with the ocean as a kid during family vacations and haven't stopped adventuring since. I have a Bachelor of Science in Marine Science from Coastal Carolina University and a Master of Environmental Management from Duke. I began a PhD program at Clemson in Fall 2024 after working as a Natural Resource Specialist for the U.S. Navy for 15 years. Now, I research how coral restoration can help preserve fish and invertebrate biodiversity in the Caribbean.
What I love most about being a researcher and scuba instructor is opening the door to help people enjoy the ocean in entirely new ways. I hope you'll join me!

about gette stream
Gette is simply a shortened version of Georgette, a childhood nickname from my grandpa. I’ve convinced myself this nickname honors my dad George’s best traits of being caring, smart, witty, and hard-working. More likely, it was low-key shade at my stubborn nature and playful orneriness…but that’s neither here nor there.
The name “Gette Stream” was first adopted for my family's Airstream in Colorado. And the rest, as they say, is history!
